Description
Lifeguard recert with CPR/AED and First Aid
Location Specifics
The American Lifeguard Association has trained over 100,000 individuals nationwide and currently has thousands of Google's results regarding all the national efforts we are involved with, and we are still growing!
The American Lifeguard Association is a nationally recognized organization that offers a blended Lifeguard recert program that can review your skills online and then come see us any Saturday for your 6 hour skills session. The American Lifeguard Association has been reviewed and received approval from national agencies such as the Government Service Administration, Homeland Security, American Medical Association and United States Senate, along with the USA Swimming Coaches Association and Dive Coaches Association.
You do not have to wait for a group class that you may or may not be able to fit into your busy schedule, to your review your skills. With our program, you can learn at your own pace, at home and get recertified right away. Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive an American Lifeguard Association Lifeguard and First Aid certification valid for 3 years and a CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED certification valid for 1 year.
You can start your program right away, and once you have completed the online part of the program successfully and acknowledge that you understand and can accomplish the different required skills that are taught, you will need to email us at alalifeguard@aol.com when you want to come see us for your review session. We will meet with you any Saturday for your 6 hour review session, at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia located at 8900 Little River Tpke Fairfax, VA 22031. Once you have registered and you know of a Saturday that is best for you, we ask that you e-mail us at alalifeguard@aol.com the date, and we can hold it for you, for space is limited. Currently, the sessions will be from 11am to 6pm, and starting in May it will move to 7am to 2pm, due to the larger classes.
Once you register, we will email you key codes that same day, which will allow you to go online right away to start your review training part of the program and to be able to take all the necessary written exams. You will also need to send us proof of your previous Lifeguard certification to complete this program. Your certification may be expired to qualify to take this course, but once you have registered and paid for the program we ask that you send us an email to alalifeguard@aol.com with a copy of your certifications, or fax a copy to 801-838-0960.
Our training covers Lifeguard, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid, and can normally be completed over just one day, and since it is a blended program, you can set the times aside that are best for you. This way if you want, you can study just a few hours each day over a week or so, or complete everything in just a day or two. As with all certifications the employer should insure that each Lifeguard candidate has all the skills necessary for the position they are being considered, and the employer should make sure the candidate meets the requirements in regard to physical and all other necessary requirements before starting employment.
This intuitive program has drawn interest from the News media, including the Wall Street Journal, and you may want to watch for it in the future regarding news stories about the national shortage of Lifeguards and how the American Lifeguard Association is creating alternative ways to overcome the server problem nationwide.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE LIFEGUARD RECERT PROGRAM:
We are offering a program that allows individuals to learn at their own pace, and can be started and completed any Saturday year round. This program can also be utilized by facilities that only need one or two individuals trained. Benefits for facilities include cost savings and content standardization. Benefits for students include being able to study at their leisure, the ability to review portions of the program repeatedly, in contrast to hearing a classroom instructor describe it only once or twice, and the ability to refer to the training materials in the future to keep up on their skills.
If you have any medical conditions it is recommended that before you start the training that you seek advice from your doctor regarding your capability to participate.
Since Lifeguards are essential for helping to keep aquatic facilities safe, unlike most other professional rescuers, lifeguards are present to prevent emergencies from occurring. Injury prevention is a primary focus for a lifeguard. Therefore, the program teaches the understanding of how injuries occur and how they can be prevented. We will also teach proper surveillance, prevention and victim recognition information, which is presented in the Lifeguard course.
HOW TO REGISTER AND START THE PROGRAM:
Just hit continue at the bottom of this page and fill out the required student information and make payment through our secured payment system with any major credit card, or check, or your Paypal account. Once you have completed the registration, we will email your key code and instructions on how you can start your training. The very same day you register you can start the program.
If you have any questions regarding our program, or if you are having problems registering, we ask that you e-mail us at alalifeguard@aol.com.
